In 2018, we saw the first few Christmas Lights appear between the lamp posts outside the 3 Magpies & St Andrews Church. It wasn’t a lot and they attracted as much negative as positive comment. However, it was a start – and a project, jointly funded between Brinsworth & Catcliffe Ward Councillors, Brinsworth Parish Council and now The Centre is well underway to Brighten up Brinsworth over the Christmas period.
Plans are progressing well, additional funds have been identified and bookings are in the process of being made that will see Brinsworth have a much brighter Christmas than ever before.
We’re planning on:
• Bringing more Christmas lights right along Brinsworth Lane from St George’s Churchyard all the way to St Andrew’s Church.
• Asking Brinsworth’s schools, residents & businesses to join in with the ‘Brighten up Brinsworth’ campaign.
• Holding a Christmas Market in The Centre car park with festive music, food, drink, gifts, events etc.
• Having a ‘Switch On’ event which will include carol singing, a lantern walk and a big Christmas Disco & Party at The Centre for everyone to enjoy.
We’ll share more news via the Parish Council and The Centre Facebook pages, websites & the Notice Boards around the village.
Together, we can all contribute to Brightening Up Brinsworth at Christmas!
